These are the adventures of a jewelry artist who is hungry for learning. I have always loved learning and teaching, but I never expected to be drawn into so many new areas of learning.

Why does my husband call me Morningprayers?
My husband gave me that name because I cannot start my day without a kiss and a morning prayer from him.
My favorite prayer is: “May we always be this much in love, with God and with each other.”
This picture is from our wedding day, when I was decked out with jewelry that I made to celebrate that wonderful day. Our story is one of true love that came back together. We fell in love, and had a son.We hit hard times, and things came apart. We ended walking in opposite directions on a circle that brought us back together 15 years later, by God’s grace. Now, instead of walking side by side and away from God, we walk together towards Him.

And that is how I got back into making jewelry! As a child, we did every craft under the sun, thanks to my mom.She was craft project leader for ALL the 4-H projects that did not involve animals. So, when I needed wedding jewelry and a veil, I decided to make my own, and I just couldn’t stop! Now I can’t stop because I never run out of beads or projects at the same time. I love beads and wires and ribbons because they are 3-D objects that I can put together and take apart as many times as I want until it calls out “Done!”
So, I made earrings, necklace, bracelets, headpieces, etc for the wedding party. Then I discovered beadworking or beadweaving – peyote stitch, chevron stitch, brick stitch, right angle weave – anything that you do with a needle. See the post 100 Hours of Prayer and you will see that I sorta went crazy for it.
Did you know? The word Bead comes from the Old English word Bede
Bede = to entreat or to pray
I find it fitting that beads are prayers, and when I wear them, I am reminded of my husband’s morning prayer for me.
My prayer for you is that you find as much happiness in your life as I have found in mine.
Why are angels so important to me?
Angels are messengers, and beads are prayers – the message is:
I am with you and I am praying with you today.
The times when I was in crisis, there appeared an angel in disguise. Usually someone I didn’t know, someone who could intercede for me with the proper person to solve the crisis. Or when there was no immediate solution, just to be there with me.
How does that affect me today? I know that when times are tough, God’s messenger is with me. I don’t have to carry the fear or anger into my life. I can slow down, and know I am safe. When a friend is hurting, I can send them a beaded prayer angel – something they can touch to know that prayer is in progress. We will keep them in our prayers, and they will not be alone.
